About Jami Stobaugh, LPC-S
Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas. I am also a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and EMDR Certified. I am working towards my certification to be certified in couples, sex, and problematic sexual behavior therapy through the Sexual Health Alliance.
I have several years of experience providing therapy and have worked in many areas of mental health, from a non-profit agency for at-risk youth to an acute mental health hospital. I am passionate about working with others. I enjoy using expressive modalities such as sandtray and art.
I'm a sex-positive and welcoming to all non-traditional relationships and lifestyles. I consider it an honor to serve my community in this capacity. In my practice, I strive to co-create a safer, judgment-free environment that is conducive to moving through emotional blocks, overcoming past traumas, finding pleasure and letting go of patterns that no longer serve you.
I consider my role as a therapist to be one of the most sacred parts of my life. There is a beauty in walking alongside people in search of safety, meaning, belonging, healing, hope, and love. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the key to healing. Through each therapeutic relationship I build, I walk away changed and inspired by individual's capacity to grow, accept, change, and see the beauty in themselves and the world around them. It brings me joy to walk to journey of hope and witnessing the magic of others overcoming their difficult experiences.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered, collaborative, and trauma informed. I aim to meet each client where they are in their life journey and provide a warm and safe place for them. I value honesty, humor, and vulnerability within the therapeutic relationship, as well as, creativity, connection, and collaboration. I take an individualized approach for each client.
To my clients, counselor, validator, empathizer, and place of warmth and non-judgment. To my friend and family, I am outgoing, funny, and the hype woman. I enjoy being around others, but also taking time to myself. It would be a joy to partner with you on your therapeutic journey as you seek to root and restore.
Supervision: I also offers supervision to interns and clinicians working towards clinical licensure or/and their Registered Play Therapist credential. I am currently accepting supervisees. Before beginning together, we will have a brief consultation to determine if we are a good fit for one another. Please feel free to email me to inquire about fees or setting up a initial consultation.
